FREDDIE FLINTOFF’S “HIDDEN SIDE OF SPORT”

Former England Cricket Captain Andrew Flintoff talked to sporting professionals about the serious effects of depression. During the in depth interviews, Freddie confronts his own issues which faced him whilst Captain of England; under pressure and under fire at the top of his game. Freddie also reveals the stigma attached to talking about depression in the face of an often unforgiving public. He also discovers that many suffer in silence or hide behind irresponsible behavior, until it becomes all too much. The film includes moving interviews with Steve Harrison, Vinnie Jones, Ricky Hatton and a host of sporting heros. We hear form journalist Piers Morgan, coaches and managers about his hidden side of sport. The documentary aired on BBC1 on Wednesday the 11th of January at 22.45  and can be viewed on the BBC Iplayer.
